Swedish Vallhund Breeders, Breed Clubs and Rescue
The Swedish Vallhund, also known as the Swedish Cattle Dog has a resemblance to the Corgis, but although he is long in proportion to height he stands on strongly boned legs and gives a real impression of power.
The Vallhund is an all-purpose farm dog, good at guarding, droving and vermin control. Alert and watchful, he tends to be somewhat aloof though he is eager to please his family. He enjoys an active life and will take all the exercise he is offered.
The colour range is steel grey, greyish brown, reddish yellow, reddish brown with darker guard hairs on the back, neck and sides of the body, together with a pattern of lighter coloured shades on the rest of the body.
Not a tall dog – dogs measure up to 13¾” but weight is up to about 16kg. In numbers he is a numerically small breed and puppies will probably be quite difficult to acquire.

If you need to rehome your own dog, first contact the breeder to see what support she can offer. If that doesn’t resolve your problem then contact a designated Rescue organisation (if one exists) or a Breed Club.
